ALLKINDS
ALLKINDS is an art-book publication and online exhibition featuring creative work produced in quarantine by over Irish 100 artists.
Bringing together artists from a variety of backgrounds, the project highlights the emergence of a unique creative passion in the last year.

ALLKINDS is a time-capsule for the creativity of this pandemic-induced period of strange isolation, anxiety and restlessness. The collection is expressed virtually, via an online exhibition, and physically, through an art-book publication. ALLKINDS involves artists from a multitude of mediums across Ireland like photography, film, design and poetry. The roster includes many artists featured on FAC, like painters Owen de Forge, Carl Hickey and Decoy.
All profits from sales of the artbook go the MASI, the Movement of Asylum Seekers Ireland, to aid their mission in highlighting the injustices of Direct Provision and ultimately demand an end to Direct Provision in Ireland. Direct Provision has come to the fore this year with a real public focus on the cruel and oppressive system. The ALLKINDS crew wanted to support those affected by Direct Provision and they found MASI was the most direct about their approach in supporting asylum seekers in Ireland.
The people behind ALLKINDS -- Ais Brady, Crónán Creagh, David Archbold and Johannes Schmoll -- told us what they aim to achieve with their curation of Irish artists.
“We wanted ALLKINDS to be easily accessible to everyone as well as having a place to exist indefinitely. The website’s design allows anyone to easily navigate through the diverse online exhibition, to view each of the artists involved and find their respective contact information.”
The ALLKINDS website is a slick online gallery, built from scratch for the exact purpose of showcasing Irish creative talent.
"The website was designed by AK's curator and creative director Ais Brady alongside Johannes Schmoll, a Berlin based web designer and developer. The website is fully custom coded. ALLKINDS had a very distinct branding from the start so it was quite a welcomed challenge to expand and morph this into the online exhibition."
As part of the online campaign, ALLKINDS partnered with Looky Here, a film production company, to create an imitate docu-series which features 10 of the artists included in the project. You can get a squint at this excellent piece of work on the ALLKINDS website.
The exudes class, coming across as both professional and efficient in its execution. To achieve this level of quality requires passion but also funding, something that's not so easy in a pandemic ridden world.
This project was a huge labour of love for everyone involved. It had a huge passion behind it. Yes, it was difficult to find funding. The best advice I feel is to just go for it anyways and work with what you have. We had to get the project into a certain position before others could see the worth."
ALLKINDS is a special project because it connects artists in a time where isolation is the norm. Capturing the creative force of artists living and working in quarantine over the last year and pulling their work together in an online space and a physical allows the work of Irish artists to be evaluated collectively. It can also inspire people to continue expressing their creativity, even during challenging times.
Sales for the artbook are available on allkinds.gallery with the book available in selected stores, including The Winding Stair, Indigo & Cloth, The Library Project, The Museum of Literature, Hen’s Teeth and Visual Carlow.
